Poets from numerous non-Anglophone countries have appeared at StAnza over the years – from Tunisia to Finland; from Mexico to Greece. The Translated Poets series – often supported by national embassies or institutes – was developed to give them a specific platform. StAnza is also dedicated to presenting the historical languages of Scotland, Gaelic and Scots, both of which feature every year in our Voices of Scotland series of readings. Readings are in the poets’ native tongues and English translation.
