An Honours Graduate in Politics and History from the University of Edinburgh, he works as a writer and journalist. He has published three collections of poetry, eight Gaelic novels and an English language fiction, Invisible Islands (2006). Sorley MacLean said this about him: "I have no doubts that Angus Peter Campbell is one of the few really significant living poets in Scotland, writing in any language" (West Highland Free Press, 2 October 1992).
