James McGonigal talks to Robyn Marsack
This event took place on Sat 19 March
The Byre Theatre, Abbey Street – Auditorium
Edwin Morgan, who died aged 90 in August 2010, was celebrated and loved as a poet and as Scotland's Makar. In 'Beyond the Last Dragon' (Sandstone Press, 2010), his life story is told by his good friend and literary executor, the poet James McGonigal. Written with Edwin Morgan's full support and using the poet's own letters, poems and plays, the biography uncovers the origins of a remarkable talent. McGonigal comes to StAnza to discuss this with Robyn Marsack, director of The Scottish Poetry Library which houses the Edwin Morgan Archive, and also to talk about the impact on his own poetry.
