StAnza International Poetry Festival

Events: StAnza 2011

Translated Poets

Translated PoetsPoets from numerous non-Anglophone countries have appeared at StAnza over the years – from Tunisia to Finland, from Mexico to Greece – often supported by national embassies or institutes. For 2010 we introduced a new strand of readings, Border Crossings, where poets from different countries writing in different languages share a platform. Readings are in the poets’ native tongues and English translation. StAnza is also dedicated to presenting the historical languages of Scotland, Gaelic and Scots, both of which feature every year in various events.
