Robyn Marsack

Robyn Marsack was born and grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. After taking her BA at Victoria University, she went to Oxford, where she read for a B.Phil and then a D.Phil in English Literature, and was a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College. She joined Carcanet Press in 1982, and became Editorial Manager of the firm. In 1987 she moved to Scotland and worked as a freelance editor, translator (from French) and critic, publishing studies of Louis MacNeice and Sylvia Plath, and reviewing poetry regularly for newspapers and journals. She took up the post of Director of the Scottish Poetry Library in January 2000, and lives in Glasgow with her husband and daughter.
