The first of two StAnza '16 post-script events is coming up soon on Friday 29th April. We're delighted to be supporting a collaborative group show with acclaimed Scottish poets, audio-visual and recording artists, linking the spoken word, music, photography and St Andrews. The event will be hosted by the poet Jacob Polley who was commissioned to write his poem ‘East Sands, Salt Prints’, words from which are now featured in the completed East Sands public art installation.
On 29th April Jacob will be joined by fellow poets Robert Crawford and Peter Mackay and the evening will include live music from The Trembling Bells, Mike Heron of the Incredible String Band and Alasdair Roberts. Throughout the evening a projected installation work ‘A Sideways Glance at St Andrews’ by Martin Gray can also be enjoyed.
The event connects with our focus on architecture for 2016. East Shore 1 examines the links between St Andrews past and present, the built and cultural environment, folklore and academia, music and pictures. ‘East Sands, Salt Prints’ partly evokes the dawn of photography and its long relationship with the town and connects with Martin Gray’s audio visual installation ‘A Sideways Glance at St Andrews’,
Doors open for the event at 6pm at The Nursery, 4 Collins House, East Sands, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8TU. This is a ticketed free event and drinks and pizza will be available to purchase at venue. You can find more information in the listing, and please email firstname.lastname@example.org for your print at home ticket or call 02074342384.
