Over the next two months we'll be flagging up on the blog as many as possible of the events planned for StAnza 2016 and to kick this off, what better to cheer a damp Friday morning than a preview of Incidental Comics, wonderful poetry cartoons from the brilliant Grant Snider. They'll be on show in St Andrews in March but here's a glimpse to whet your appetite. What better that a cartoon inspired by a poem by the late, great Mark Strand, who featured in a Past and Present at StAnza in March past, and whose poem Fire, which the cartooon credits, was the very one he read at StAnza in 2007 at our 100 Poets Reading to celebrate our 10th birthday. Anyone who still has a copy of the anthology of poems from that event, Skein of Geese, can find it there. And anyone who was at the 100 Poets Reading will recall that there really was fire when Alastair Reid set fire to his poem Scotland as the event finale.
