Poetry Map of Scotland poem no. 117: The Mound, Edinburgh

At the top of the Mound

The never ending steps
From the Waverley train
Stairs pushing me
Dragging me
Leaving me thirsty
Once the voyage was over
He greeted me with arms
Protective around me
Love gushed in to my soul
At the top of the Mound
A familiar Edinburgh site
The feeling of belonging
