Poetry Map of Scotland, poem no. 190: Ring of Brodgar, Orkney

Ring of Brodgar

No nonsense.

Just stone-cold fact.

Immovable.

Determined.

Down-to-earth.

A shrine to sweat

And planning

And sheer, bloody hard work.

A gathering of ancestors

Feet planted firmly on the ground
