Poetry Map of Scotland poem no. 99: Ardnamurchan

Ardnamurchan

Miles deep
the molten maelstrom
the surging mass
of searing magma
forces through cracks
and floods half Scotland.
Now,
here,
a ring of green hills
a bowl of cool sunlight
and stillness, stitched
by the unseen lark.
