The first event for StAnza 2014 takes place four weeks from today, but if a month seems a long time to wait, there’s plenty happening in Fife during February. From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February, the Fife Jazz festival are offering twenty-one events across the kingdom, from St Andrews to Dunfermline, from Newburgh to Anstruther with headliners including The Big Chris Barber Band. And there are new arrivals in Cambo Woods, which are lit up once again for Snowdrops by Starlight, (www.snowdropsbystarlight.com) from 12 to 16 February, and on Tuesday 11 February The Highland Shakespeare Company will be doing a promenade performance of A Midwinter Night’s Dream in the snowdrop woods. Also making an appearance on the weekends of 15 and 16, 22 and 23 February and 1 and 2 March, is Kenny Grieve of Brotus Crafts who will be holding free drop-in workshops introducing all sorts of intriguing wood crafts,. Head Gardener Elliott Forsyth will be giving an RHS talk on ‘Planning a Winter Garden’ on Sunday 9 February, there are daily walks with a gardener each weekday, and be sure to check out the trail created by sculptor Robin Wood.
