What a glorious week, what a festival. We're still reeling from it all and putting one word in front of another is proving a challenge here at StAnza homebase but huge thanks to everyone who contributed to making StAnza 2016 such a buzz. So that includes all the poets, visual artists, musicians, filmmakers and others who gave us such a fabulous festival, our warm and wonderful audiences, and the amazing StAnza team. Together we created something very special.
We'll be posting links to reviews and articles about the festival soon. Meantime, if you're looking for more poetry this month, you can catch some of this year's StAnza poets and some of last year's favourites as well over in Glasgow this week taking part in St Mungo Mirrorball events at Aye Write.
On Thursday 17 March 7:30PM - 8:30PM Jim Carruth Introduces Helen Mort who made such a big impression at StAnza last year reading with Rebecca Perry, who was shortlisted for last year's TS Eliot Prize.
Then on Friday 18th Mar 2016 , 6:00PM - 7:00PM you can hear Sinéad Morrissey, also from StAnza 2015.
Also on Friday there's a free event remembering Sandy Hutchison, a great StAnza favourite who also took part in last year's festival and sadly died last December. That's on Friday 18th Mar 2016, 7:30PM - 8:30PM.
Then on Sunday 20th Mar 2016, 6:00PM - 7:00PM Andrew McMillan who gave such a wonderful reading at StAnza this year reads with David Kinloch.
Tickets are available through the Aye write box office on 0141 353 800 or you can book online through the Aye Write website where you can also get more information on the St Mungo Mirrorball events.
Finally, Em Strang who read at this year's sell-out New Writers Showcase at StAnza is in Glasgow tomorrow, Wednesday 16th March in a free event at 7.30pm in room 101 at 5 University Gardens.
