A Bird World

Thursday 7 March, 10:00 - Sunday 10 March, 22:00
Byre Theatre, Abbey Street - Foyers and Garden

An exhibition of poetry produced by young people at Madras College

As part of StAnza’s work in schools for 2019, the poet Ken Cockburn is working on poetry projects with young people in local schools. In the second of these, he introduced them to ‘Daedalus’ by Alastair Reid, in which a father considers his young son’s fascination with birds, to prompt discussion about knowledge and experience of birds. Ken suggested writing activities in response to this poem, and a selection of the resulting work to date is installed hanging from bird-feeders inside and outside the Byre and the Preservation Trust Museum Garden.
