Festival Launch Extravaganza

Wednesday 6 March, 18:30 - 20:45
Byre Theatre, Abbey Street - Auditorium
free / ticketed

Enjoy a sneak peek of some of the highlights of StAnza 2019

Raise a glass with us as we officially launch this year’s festival! Following the success of this new format in 2018, our opening night will again offer up an extravaganza of poems as well as film, art and music.

In this taster of some of the poetry and performances we’re most excited about this festival, catch some of the biggest names in poetry, and welcome some great new talent we’re sure you’ll love. The line-up will be revealed nearer to the festival. Interwoven with their words will be a selection of the filmpoems and digital installations to be enjoyed at StAnza 2019 – and of course there’ll be music guaranteed to set your feet tapping.

Watch this space to find out who will be taking part. We dare you to leave without a new favourite poet…

This event is free. If you’d like to reserve a ticket, you can do so by contacting the Byre Theatre’s box office. However, tickets will only be available for collection on the day: they will not be issued until 40 minutes before the event starts, and reservations will expire on any tickets not collected 15 minutes before the event starts. Or, of course, you can take your chances and just turn up on the day.
