A poetic map of the world to celebrate our twentieth festival

The German author Christa Wolf once suggested that literature can offer a way of mapping the world, allowing us to map our relationships, our landscapes and ourselves and to see the relationships, landscapes and people across borders and across walls: and as Scotland's international poetry festival, StAnza has always looked to fill in the details on this map.

To celebrate StAnza's twentieth festival in 2017 and our twentieth anniversary in 2018, we're asking one poet from every language and every country ever featured at StAnza to record themselves reading a poem, and we're putting these together to create a multilingual audio-installation. We'll launch this poetic map of the world in StAnza 2017, with the first few voices, and will continue to add to it over the following twelve months.
