Listen to new poems commissioned for the Muriel Spark centenary

During 2018, the National Library of Scotland is leading celebrations to mark the centenary of the birth of Muriel Spark, one of Scotland’s best loved – and most quoted – writers of the twentieth century. Despite being best known as novelist, Spark very much saw herself as a poet and so we're particularly pleased to be able to celebrate her work through poetry. StAnza has commissioned a number of poets to write new poems responding to favourite quotes from Muriel Spark’s novels. Whether you're a devoted Spark fan, or are yet to meet Miss Jean Brodie, come along and listen as the poets read their new works and discuss the influence of Muriel Spark.

Supported by Muriel Spark 100, the Poetry Society and the British Council, and in assocation with Polygon Birlinn
