Past & Present
In our Past & Present sessions, contemporary speakers share their enthusiasm for favourite past poets. Today we hear from two Scottish poets and translators, each discussing a notable Norwegian past poet. Ian Crockatt will be discussing Rognvaldr Kali Kolsson, a striking and intriguing eleventh-century Norwegian figure whose surviving poetry demonstrates the multicultural style of the Viking diaspora. Also speaking will be Agnes Scott Langeland, who will share her interest in Stein Mehren, an award-winning poet and playwright known for the nearly microscopic focus in his work, who published over fifty books following his debut in 1960.
