Events - Festival 2020

Thursday 5 March, 11:00 - Sunday 8 March, 17:00
Preservation Trust Museum, North Street - The Old Chemist’s Shop

An offering of poems on bottles and plants, by Alec Finlay

At StAnza 2012, we featured The Road North, a word-map of Scotland composed by Alec Finlay and Ken Cockburn spelled out as poem labels on whisky miniatures. This year, as part of his appearance at the festival, Alec will offer a selection of poem-labels attached to bottles on display in the Old Chemist Shop and plants in the museum garden.

Don't miss Alec's reading at the festival in our Thursday Five O’Clock Verses. You can also take one of his walk-poems for a wander.
