Poetry Café: Carly Brown and Joe with the Glasses

Thursday 7 March, 13:00 - 13:50
The Byre Theatre, Abbey Street - Studio Theatre
£6.75/£5.50

Lively poetry from two of the best poets to emerge from Scotland’s spoken word scene, served up with a lunchtime snack

Loud, funny, and personal. Savour your lunch (included in the ticket price) with the additional spice of exceptional poetry from two leading poets to emerge from Scotland’s spoken word scene. A former poet in residence for the National Black Theatre, Joe with the Glasses is known for his hard-hitting poems which are lyrically crafted with a strong sense of musicality. He’ll be sharing the stage with award-winning writer and performer Carly Brown, whose 2013 win at the StAnza slam sent her, via the Scottish national slam championships, to the world series in Paris. Come prepared to laugh out loud and consider new perspectives in the first Poetry Café event at StAnza 2019.

Sponsored by Stuart’s the Bakers of Buckhaven

Poetry Café lunches include meat and macaroni pies (on a first come, first choice basis), with a beer/lager or a soft drink. Please let us know in advance of any relevant dietary requirements, quoting your ticket number, and we'll do our best to offer you a suitable alternative.
