Spoken word from a poet who spoke for a city

Enjoy a lunchtime of poetry with a writer who will make you laugh, cry, and remember how striking spoken word can truly be. Tony Walsh (aka Longfella), a performer and regular on TV and radio, saw his work go global with his poem ‘This is The Place’. Commissioned in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, his poem entered the folklore and fabric of the city he’s still proud to call home. With a big heart and a big personality, this poet will give you a lunchtime you won’t forget.

Sponsored by Stuart’s the Bakers & Butchers

Poetry Café lunches include meat and macaroni pies (on a first come, first choice basis), with a beer/lager or a soft drink. Please let us know in advance of any relevant dietary requirements, quoting your ticket number, and we'll do our best to offer you a suitable alternative.
