A double bill of poetry to start the weekend in style. Kicking off the evening is Jacques Darras. A pre-eminent French poet, Darras is known for his work’s intense exploration of landscape, as well as the interplay of language, rhythm and melody in his poetry. He has won a number of accolades for his work, including the Grand Prix de l’Académie française.

Next up is Kathleen Jamie, one of the most renowned poets writing in Scotland today. Jamie’s work has won a number of accolades including the Forward Prize for Best Collection, and her poetry and essays have become known for their sparse language and fine observation of the natural work.
