The Scores

Wednesday 1 March, 10:00 - Sunday 5 March, 22:00
The Byre Theatre, Abbey Street

Poetry lifted off the page

In 2016 a new poetry journal was launched in St Andrews. The Scores, which comes from an old Norse word for cliff, is the name of the street in St Andrews where the University’s English Department finds its home. And it is here that a new bi-annual online magazine recently came to life. The Scores is a journal edited, compiled, and managed by the MFA Creative Writing students at the University of St Andrews. They showcase “work that thrills, work that moves, work that plays along the cliff edge”. So take a pair of headphones from the balcony on level 2 of the Byre, and take care not to get vertigo as you listen to a selection of audio poetry from the cliff edge.

Poets and poems featured are:

Caesura, by Krystelle Bamford

Speck, by Carla Funk

Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Lindsay Macgregor

If our lives are inescapably linear, by Matthew Manera

That Time, by Helena Nelson

Reparation, by Owain Nicholson

Subsequent Poem, by Kingsley O'Bedlam

In association with The Scores and supported by the School of English, University of St Andrews
