Emma Jones

Emma Jones won a number of awards for her first poetry collection, The Striped World (Faber, 2009), including the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and the Anne Elder Award. In 2013 her libretto for City Songs, with music by Eriks Esenvalds and Imogen Heap, premiered at the Round House. As an academic, her research interests lie in nineteenth and twentieth century poetry, and in broad questions of poetics and poetic meaning, particularly metaphor. She gained her PhD from Cambridge for a thesis on Christina Rossetti. Emma is currently at work on a novel and a new collection of poems.
