Elizabeth Pickett

Elizabeth Pickett is a geologist by background. Based in Northumberland, she writes, edits and illustrates publications and displays about the natural and cultural landscapes of northern England and Scotland. In 2015 she took part in a sea voyage around the Argyll islands with a group of geologists, artists and musicians to celebrate the remarkable nineteenth-century geologist Hugh Miller and his book The Testimony of the Rocks. Her artwork and writing from this journey included poems inspired by Scotland’s wonderful geology and landscapes, one of which was highly commended in the Hugh Miller Writing Competition in 2016.
