Rachel Rankin

Rachel Rankin is a poet and translator currently based in Edinburgh. Her work has featured in the Scotsman, Scottish Review of Books, Words Without Borders, Gutter and Multiverse: An International Anthology of Science Fiction Poetry, among others. In 2018, Rachel was selected for the National Centre for Writing’s Emerging Translator Mentoring Programme and in 2019 she was a recipient of a New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust. She has worked as a tutor in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Edinburgh, teaching Norwegian language and literature, and is set to start a PhD at the same institution in early 2020, where she will be researching the translation of Norwegian poetry.
