Translators discuss transposing poetry from Slavic languages

From 1 April the StAnza 2021 festival content on this page is no longer available.

Wake up and smell the Poetry Café! Our breakfast discussion events offer a relaxed start to the day, with a group of poets and other festival participants discussing all things poetical. We can’t offer the usual Byre coffee and Fisher and Donaldson pastries this year, but if you bring your own cuppa, we’ll try and channel those pastries! Our translation breakfasts are always a favourite at the festival, and this year we’re thrilled to bring together poets and translators working from a variety of Slavic languages, including Sasha Dugdale, who works from Russian, Uilleam Blacker, who translates from Ukrainian, and Stephan Delbos, a translator from Czech.

The panel discussion will be streamed to this page and followed by a Zoom Q&A to allow for audience discussion. Just return to this page for the panel discussion, which will be captioned and remain available to watch until 31 March. You can book a ticket to receive the link to the Zoom Q&A in advance. The link will also be shared during the discussion.
