A poetry workshop on navigation and the stars, led by Vicki Husband

Start your StAnza experience by making time for your own writing at this half-day workshop. We’ll be exploring themes of navigation, direction and the heavens by responding to old navigational equipment held in the Wardlaw Museum’s collections.

Leading the workshop will be poet and tutor Vicki Husband, whose collection This Far Back Everything Shimmers was shortlisted for the Saltire Society Poetry Book of the Year. Vicki’s work explores astronomy, art and aging, juxtaposing the minutiae of everyday life against our vast and curious universe. Her latest work, a pamphlet length poem about cycling in the Norwegian Arctic Circle, interweaves Norse myth with the Norwegian language and landscape.
