A showcase of the Tapsalteerie anthology celebrating innovative contemporary poetry

From 1 April the StAnza 2021 festival content on this page is no longer available.

Tapsalteerie's 2019 anthology Makar/Unmakar: Twelve Contemporary Poets in Scotland showcses a dozen of the most vital poets living and writing in Scotland today. As part of our Make It New strand at StAnza 2021, we're delighted to be sharing a taster of the collection as a digital installation.

Makar/Unmakar is edited by Calum Rodger and features poetry by Juana Adcock, Tessa Berring, Callie Gardner, Harry Josephine Giles, Colin Herd, Daisy Lafarge, Nick-e Melville, Iain Morrison, Nat Raha, Maria Sledmere, Alice Tarbuck and Kate Tough. These are makars in the true sense: poets as makers, their poetry a vehicle for making (and unmaking) ideas of identity, community, reality and truth, realised within and against a world of austerity and precarity, reactionary right-wing populism, surveillance capitalism and ecological catastrophe.

Check back to this page during the festival to access the digital installation.
