Poetry Café: Desree

Sunday 14 March, 13:00 - 13:30
StAnza Online

Lunchtime spoken word from Desree

Alas, we can’t offer Stuart the Baker’s pies with this year’s poetry café events, but we do have some amazingly powerful spoken word for you to enjoy with your lunch at home. Having graduated in Drama Studies, Desree is very familiar with the stage. Her work explores intersectionality, justice and social commentary, occasionally throwing in a f*ckboypoem. And if the final day of the festival feels way too long to wait to hear Desree, by way of a preview, you can check out her filmpoem, Call It Ours, one of StAnza’s micro-commissions from summer 2020.

Venue for online: This web page – free

*TBC* We hope this event can, additionally, also be live streamed to the Byre Theatre for a small socially distanced audience, if this is permitted in March.  Please read our position on Covid-19 safety and compliance.

Venue for Byre live stream: The Byre Theatre, Abbey Street – Auditorium – free/ticketed

Participants: Desree
