Events - Festival 2021

Poetry Centre Stage

Sunday 14 March, 19:30 - 20:30
StAnza Online

Reading: Colette Bryce, Valzhyna Mort

Our final reading of the festival brings together two unflinching, immediate and evocative poets. Valzhyna Mort writes in English and Belarusian, and has received international awards for her work. Her latest collection, Music for the Dead and Resurrected, came out in 2020 and explores the gaps and silences inherent in history and memory. Reading alongside her is Colette Bryce, whose work has been shortlisted for the Costa and Forward prizes. Her new collection, The M Pages, was published by Picador in 2020. Built around an elegiac sequence for M, this arresting and moving collection is testament to Colette’s position as one of Ireland’s leading contemporary poets.
