Portraits of the Edge
Over the last five years Denis Mollison has been visiting all the beaches of the North West Highlands Geopark. His photos from this project explore the attraction of beaches through their elements and their details: water, light and stone, and the creatures that live on or visit a beach. The photos from this project inspired the poetry cycle by Roderick Manson. Images and poems from the project will be shown as a digital installation, projected on a loop along with other installations throughout the festival. There will be an opportunity to hear more about ‘Portraits of the Edge’ from Roderick Manson and Denis Mollison at 11:30 on Friday 8 March.
`They are indirect, reflections which add to the message of the photographs without describing them, which we don't need. A good combination.’ – Pauline Prior-Pitt
