The StAnza Masterclass
Join us for our perennially popular Masterclass to consider the nuts and bolts of poetry writing. This year Colette Bryce, the incoming editor of Poetry Ireland Review, will be offering in-depth critique and comment on a selection of submitted poems.
The Masterclass will be in two parts: a half-hour conversation between Colette and the selected Masterclass poets, streamed on this page, followed by a Zoom discussion, providing an opportunity for critical input from the audience. Tickets can be booked for the Zoom event. The Zoom link will also be shared here at the end of the streamed conversation.
To have your work considered for inclusion in the Masterclass, send one poem of up to 35 lines long in a single Word or RTF attachment (NB not PDF) to email@example.com between 1 and 20 January, with name, phone number and email address. The email should have “Masterclass Submission” in the subject line. Poems are welcome on any subject, including this year’s themes, Make it New or No Rhyme nor Reason.
Those whose poems are chosen will be notified by 8 February, when they will be invited to take part in a session on Zoom on 10 February with Colette Bryce and the other selected poets to read and discuss their poems. Please confirm in the covering email with your submission that you would be available on 10 February. You should also check this listing for updates before submitting.
