Anneke Lubkowitz was born in Baden-Baden in 1990 and grew up in the ‘flourishing landscapes’ of former East Germany. A book addict from an early age, she studied Comparative Literature in Berlin and Edinburgh. After completing her PhD in English Literature at Humboldt University Berlin, she now lives and works in Berlin as an editor, writer and translator. She co-founded the literary magazine Sachen mit Wœrtern (2011-2018) and recently published her study Haunted Spaces in 21st Century British Nature Writing (De Gruyter, 2020) as well as an anthology on urban walking (Psychogeografie, Matthes & Seitz, 2020). She is currently working on a project on female writers and the outdoors.
