Anger My Heart/Hunger Me Oot

Anger My Heart and Hunger Me Oot.
A dozen basalt pillars and a lazy meadow:
foxgloves
rye grass
daisies
and hedgewort
allowing me to starve
as they grow, grass choking grass, drenched in pollen,
beside a weil in the Whiteadder.

Anger my heart and keep me hungry.
The grass blazing with seed heads,
burning to the pit of me;
keeping my core empty.

Fire turning into stone.
A solid, hard hunger.
