Translator, poet and artist Yasmine Seale began creating erasure art from Edward Lane’s translation of The Thousand and One Nights while working on a contemporary translation of the text herself. Her visually arresting erasures became a way to playfully read against Lane, and a reminder of the fluidity of this ever-changing text. A selection of the erasures are showcased as part of our digital installations.
