What are the similarities between how stories are told (and which stories are told) in Scottish and Irish Gaelic? This reading will go a small way towards answering this question in its pairing of Niall O’Gallagher and Louise de Paor, who will both read in Gaelic and English. Niall will read from his recent sonnet sequence ‘Ceann-tighearna’ (‘Kentigern’), in which episodes from the lives of the saints are woven together with more contemporary Glasgow stories. Louis will join us from Ireland on Zoom to share the narrative play, wit and lyricism which has established him as one of the most popular Irish-language poets writing today.
This event has been supported by EventScotland as part of Year of Stories 2022.
