Photographer Alastair Jackson is originally from Skye. He was inspired to create this exhibition by the discovery of a spoken word LP of Sorley MacLean’s poems in his grandmother’s house. Most of the locations referred to in the poems were in Skye or Raasay, places with which Jackson was very familiar, and he started creating images of the locations. The project developed into a collaboration when the poet Kenneth Steven began to write poems prompted by themes and emotions arising from the images.
