Join us on 16 December on Zoom as we launch ‰’Beyond Any Curtain‰’, an e-book of translations and creative versions to come out of a collaborative project between Scotland and Ukraine! Over the course of 2021, four Ukrainian and four Scottish poets — Hannah Lavery, Roseanne Watt, Andrew Blair and Vicki Husband, and Les Beley, Olena Huseinova, Myroslav Laiuk and Liuba Yakymchuk — together with translator Uilleam Blacker, worked together to translate each others‰’ poetry – with fascinating results. Tonight, we aren‰’t just launching the e-book to come out of the project, but will also be hearing Grigory Semenchuk‰’s musical responses to some of the translations, in an electrifying blend of hip hop, electropunk and pop.
