This year’s Saturday StAnza Masterclass will be delivered by the Eric Gregory Award-winning, Forward Prize-shortlisted poet and author, Helen Mort. Mort’s three collections to date, Division Street, No Map Could Show Them, and The Illustrated Woman, cover topics as diverse as workers’ movements in the North of England, the history of women’s mountaineering, and contemporary women’s politics of the body, so no matter your poetic interests, you’ll find a keen analytical and poetic mind ready to bring the best out of your work.

Helen Mort is an award-winning author based in Sheffield. She has published three poetry collections (Division Street, No Map Could Show Them, and The Illustrated Woman), a debut novel (Black Car Burning), a short story collection (Exire) and she also writes drama and creative non fiction.
