Parliament Hall
Parliament Hall was the meeting place for the Scots Parliament during 1645 to 1646 and is situated in St Mary’s College, in St Mary’s Quadrangle. In the quad there is a large holm oak tree, which is around 275 years old and another ancient tree – a thorn tree – was supposedly planted by Mary Queen of Scots in the sixteenth century. Parliament Hall plays host to our wonderful Poetry Market on the Sunday of the festival from 11.00am – 3.00pm.
Access: Parliament Hall has a step up into the venue. A portable ramp is available for wheelchair access – please let a member of StAnza or Byre Box Office staff know in advance if you need this and we will be happy to help. You can email stanza@stanzapoetry.org or call the Byre team on 01334 475000.
There is level access to an accessible toilet within the venue on the ground floor.
