S.J. Fowler and Jemima Foxtrot lead a mass reading from a new anthology of poems for refugees. Come and join in.

Can reading poetry be a truly collaborative process or communal experience? Join us at this year’s festival for a short and provocative experiment in collective reading led by poets S.J. Fowler, who regularly works on collaborative poetry projects, and Jemima Foxtrot, who recently led a poetry flash mob at the Tate Britain. No previous experience of reading poetry is necessary, and quiet voices are as welcome as commanding ones, so please do come along to the Byre for this special event when we’ll be reading from Over Land, Over Sea: Poems for those Seeking Refuge. This is a new anthology from Five Leaves created and published in solidarity with the refugees currently trying to reach and find homes in Europe. All proceeds from sales of the book will be shared between the charities Médecins Sans Frontières, Leicester City of Sanctuary and Nottingham Refugee Forum, all of which support people looking for refuge. We hope that for a few minutes, with your help, we can collectively fill the Byre with the sound of these poems.

Presented with the support of Five Leaves Press

Participants: S.J. Fowler and Jemima Foxtrot
