Autoflâneur

Whether we’re visiting a place for the first time or looking at familiar sights with fresh eyes, the act of wandering, of allowing ourselves to get lost, can be a creative one. This year at StAnza we’re celebrating poetry on the road, and as part of this Harry Giles has developed a StAnza-specific version of Autoflâneur, their guide to getting lost. Autoflâneur offers procedurally-generated walking and writing prompts to take you in an ever unexpected direction. Go to stanzapoetry.org/autoflaneur, ask at the Festival Desk for an Autoflâneur guide, or check out the directions projected in the Byre’s Level 2 Foyer for the first steps towards losing yourself and finding a poem.

This version of Autoflâneur was created by Harry Giles for StAnza 2017. For notes and sources, visit harrygiles.org/autoflaneur.
